Here around Washington, DC it has been pretty much non stop rain for the past 2 week. We’ve had about 3 days of sun. As of right now, the sun is trying to peak through the clouds but they’re just not budging.
Styling clothes for a rainy day is tricky because most of the time you’re just not feeling like getting dressed up. You also have to take into account how much time it would take to dry if it were to get wet.

When the rain is really coming down but you still have to go outside, you want to just throw on stuff that wont get too wet and cover up as much as you can. I’ve found that the best outfits for these are just some nice leggings and a longer shirt. It makes you feel like you put in a little effort but honestly you just weren’t feeling it.
Liquid sunshine can come out of nowhere but it’s nice to know you have an outfit planned if it does. These are the days that it could just be drizzling out and you don’t want to walk around town in normal clothes just for it to start raining again. I love just throwing on a dress for these days because liquid sunshine normally happens when its warmer out.

Have you ever had a day planned when you are just going out sightseeing or exploring a city, and then you see it’s going to rain that day? Of course you don’t want to cancel all your plans just because of a little water from the sky. Just dress accordingly. Make sure you bag can stand water and that your clothes aren’t going to feel horrible if they get a little wet. Also make sure your shoes are comfortable and can withstand water.

When you are out hiking or exploring in nature, you want to be prepared if it starts raining or drizzling. That’s why you need to have waterproof or water resistant clothes and gear. The ground will most likely be damp or have puddles along the path.
Rainy days are inevitable, but all you have to is be prepared if they do. Have those few outfits that can work for whatever activity you have planned. Don’t let a little water stop you from doing what you planned. However, I would stay inside if there is a major storm coming (you don’t really want to be outside for that anyway). Just take caution and look at the weather before going outside.
