12 Summer Daytime Essentials | August 2016

Summer is one of my favorite seasons. All the bright colors and nature are so uplifting. I always love seeing what people think are their essentials to have. Things that make it easier or safe or fun.

I decided to take my essentials in the route of everyday life, through fashion and beauty. These things tend to change the most for me throughout the year because of the weather and what I’m feeling.

If you would like to see some of my other essentials for different things, let me know.

1. Suncare : Suncare is important year around but as we all know, when you don’t show as much skin, you tend to be a little more lenient on application. It is always important to have that body sunscreen, face sunscreen, and lip sunscreen (the lips can burn too). You also need to have that aloe vera on hand in case you do get burned.

2. Makeup Primers & Setting Sprays : Keeping your makeup on your face is always the struggle in summer. Sometimes it just doesn’t seem like you want to take the effort to do it because of the heat and humidity. Primers and setting sprays will become your friends. They allow you to not look cakey and also for you to look just as good as you did 10 hours ago when you put it on.

3. Powder Foundation (Shown ; Other Option) : For me at least, liquid foundation always feels like it’s melting off my face in the summer. Powder foundation is much easier and they have made the formulas better over the years. It gives you the coverage, doesn’t look cakey, and it feels light on the skin.

4. Perfume (Shown ; Other Option) : Scents are great to remember the seasons and make yourself smell exactly how you think the season should smell. Summer reminds me of ocean breezes and flowers with the occasional fruit, so those are the scents that I tend to go for this season.

5. Easy Sun Dresses (Shown ; Other Option) : Sun dresses are great during the summer. They are a complete outfit and you don’t really need to think about if it is going to look good or not (because you know it is). Whether you are putting on a t-shirt dress, a romper, a maxi dress, or a smock dress, they are an easy outfit and they don’t feel like you are wearing tons of layers in the hot summer weather.

6. Maxi Skirt (Shown ; Other Option) : Honestly maxi skirts are like the pants of the summer. They’re flowy but if you decide to skip shaving every now and then, it’s not noticeable. This also goes for maxi dresses. Plus, it’s another one stop shop for an outfit when you pair with a shirt you love.

7. Nice Tops (Shown ; Other Option) : Having tops that can be dressed up or down are great because they are so versatile no matter where the day takes you. Summer is the time of year where people are more spontaneous with their plans because it is nice out. This means that you could be at work all day and then you get a text saying “lets go out to that outdoor concert tonight” with your friends.

8. Flowy Shorts (Shown ; Other Option) : Summer days are too hot to wear something that is form fitting. Flowy shorts allow your skin to breath and for you to look cute. Most of these come in fun styles and patterns.

9. Sunglasses (Shown ; Other Option) : As I’ve said in many post before (mainly my last one), sunglasses are a great accessory for summer. They protect your eyes and look stylish in the process.

10. Purse (Shown ; Other Option) : Most summer outfits don’t have that many pockets and that is where purses come in handy. They allow you to bring all you need for a day out exploring.

11. Sandals (Shown ; Other Option) : Sandals are a staple for summer. However, it’s hard to find good ones. Most of them aren’t comfortable for all day wear, so when you find a good one, make sure to buy backups.

12. Baseball Caps (Shown ; Other Option) : If you’re having a bad hair day, throw on a cap. Also it protects your face and scalp from the sun.

Bonus : There can’t be summer without music. Music can just set the mood for any situation. If you’re on a road trip or hanging out down by the beach, there is a playlist for something. If you want to hear what I’ve been listen to this summer, check out my Spotify.

It was very hard to narrow down my essentials. I just want to include everything. I feel like there are so many essentials for different events and seasons.
