I haven’t purchased much over the past year and but I remembered that I had gift cards from Christmas 2020 to use before the end of the year. So I might have went on a spending spree. I purchased some apartment things (to store until I move), some clothes, and some beauty items.
I haven’t worn makeup for a while (probably 2 years) and so I decided some of my products needed to be replaced. Some of these are repurchases and some of these are products that I have been wanting to try for a while.
NYX Professional Makeup Marshmellow Smoothing Primer (Mini Size / Full Size): I am a big fan of water based primers. The silicone ones feel like they never sinks in so everything is just sitting on top of my face and will slide off at any moment. It is very hard to find primers with no silicone or for it to be further down the list. I saw this one and thought I would try the mini size before committing to the full size.
Another one that I really want to try is the Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Blurring Primer but Ulta was sold out of the mini size at the time I was placing an order. Hopefully it comes back in stock by the next time I place an order.
CoverGirl Lid Lock Up Eyeshadow Primer: I have used the Milani Eyeshadow Primer and the NYX Proof It! Eyeshadow Primer (discontinued) before. I wanted to try something new this time. I hope it’s as good as I’ve heard some reviews of it.
L’Oréal Infallible Fresh Wear 24HR Foundation: So many people have raved about this foundation. I love L’Oreal products so I have been intrigued to try it for a while. I am more of a powder foundation girl (I love the bareMinerals original and matte versions in shade Fair 01) so I am a little intimidated that this is liquid. I hope it doesn’t look like I have to much on my skin (is this a product you can mix with a moisturizer to make it like a tinted moisturizer?). I got the shade Rose Pearl 395.
NYX Professional Makeup Can’t Stop Won’t Stop 24HR Full Coverage Matte Concealer: I’ve been using the L’Oréal Infallible Full Wear Waterproof Concealer (in shade Porcelain) for the past couple of years. I really like it but sometimes I want something lighter coverage for just throwing on with powder and mascara. I noticed that with the L’Oreal one I have to use foundation to make my face look even when using it. I used this NYX one a long time ago. I remember liking it but I honestly can’t remember my full thoughts on it. I got the shade Fair which I believe was the shade I used before.
L’Oréal True Match Super Blendable Powder: This is a powder that I always go back to. I always get the shade N1 Soft Ivory. I want to try other powders but I am afraid of picking up the wrong shade in them (do you have a favorite powder to use?).
I have been eyeing the bareMinerals BAREPRO 16-HR Skin-Perfecting Powder Foundation in Fair 10 Neutral. It looks like the loose foundations which I love and the shades hopefully align the same in each line. So maybe next time it goes on sale I will pick it up.
L’Oréal Brow Stylist Definer: I have been using the L’Oréal Brow Stylist Shape and Fill Pencil in Blonde. I have been noticing recently that my brows have been looking a little too dark. I don’t know if this is because of the shade I’ve been using or because I’ve been applying to much product. I decided to get the new pencil in Light Blonde this time to see if that makes a difference. I will admit that I’m not the best at filling in my brows.
L’Oréal Le Liner Signature Mechanical Eyeliner: I have never been good at eyeliner. I think its because I am always afraid of poking my eye with it. It has been a few years since I’ve tried, so I decided to pick up a new one and try again. I heard great reviews of this pencil and it seems easy to use.
ULTA Micro Felt Tip Liner: Just like the pencil eyeliner, I have never been good at liquid liner. I saw that this one has a small tip and to me that seems like it may be easier to use (I may be completely wrong in that assumption). What is the best type of tip for people who are new with eyeliner?
CoverGirl Exhibitionist Mascara: My go to mascara has been the L’Oréal Voluminous Original Mascara. I have tried other ones now and then but always go back to that one. CoverGirl Exhibitionist is one that I have tried and remember liking it. I didn’t repurchase it because it is slightly more expensive the L’Oreal mascara that I like. I decided to pick it up again and see if I still like it.
Once I try these products, I will update in either a designated post or combined in other posts. I would like to know what your thoughts are if you have tried any of these products. Also, what are some of your favorite beauty items to repurchase?
Also what are some of the beauty products you’ve purchased recently or are on your wish list?
