Fall Fashion Wishlist | September 2017

As we move into the colder weather, I’ve been looking at my wardrobe to see what pieces will work for the upcoming seasons. I’ve noticed I’m missing some valuable things from my closet.

Here are a list of things that I think would be great additions to my wardrobe for the colder months.

1. Utility Skirt/Jean Skirt:

As we move out of the flowy skirt season, we move into the more structured skirts. Some of the great trendy pieces that have seen lately are utility (or military) style and also jean skirts. Both can add uniqueness to an outfit or go more basic with them.

2. Leggings:
(Pictured, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar)
Leggings are an essential every year. They can go with almost every outfit (if the top is long enough). The one thing you have to look out for is the fit of them. They can’t be too baggy and they can’t be see through when you stretch.

3. Utility Pants:
(Pictured, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar)
This is a good option to jeans that are a bit more casual but they can also be more put together with then jeans. I want some in multiple colors.

4. Pixie Pants:
(Pictured, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar)
I’ve found that I don’t have that many nice/work pants. As I am looking for a job, I am also looking for a pulled together work wardrobe for whatever office setting I may be in. Pixie Pants look like a great option to not be in a suit but also to be more pulled together then jeans.
Another good option to is Khakis (similar, similar, similar, similar).

5. Jeans:

A staple in any wardrobe. Over the years I have found 4 pairs of jeans that look good on me and have noticed that I need to get a couple more pairs. They seem to go with most things and they are always good to have in multiple styles and colors.

6. Button Skirt:
(Pictured, Similar, Similar, Similar)
Like Utility Skirts, I find that Button Skirts are also a good staple. They allow for a little bit of fun instead of just having a plain front. It allows you to feel a bit more structured but also it can be dressed down.

7. Long Sleeve Dress:

I love dresses in every season. I find they are the easiest to wear and you look put together with minimal effort. I also feel confident in a lot of dresses. I have noticed that I don’t have long sleeve dresses. I don’t know how this has happened but I really do need to change it.
Another good option is a Sweater or Sweatshirt Dresses (similar, similar, similar, similar, similar, similar, similar).

8. Shirts:

I go for all styles of skirts in the colder months. If you get a tank top or a short sleeve shirt, you can just put a sweater or sweatshirt over them. If you get a long sleeve then you can just wear it on its own.

9. Lightweight Sweater:

Sweaters are great in that they are a one stop shop for a top on cold days. They also feel all warm and snuggly when you want that. I’ve collected tons over the years but I’m always looking for new patterns and styles to spice things up in my wardrobe.

10. Cardigan:

This are great to just have in any month of the year. They are easy to throw on over anything and they keep you warm. You can get ones that are more casual or ones that can dress up an outfit.

11. Riding Boots:
(Pictured, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar) :
I’ve never had a pair of Riding Boots. I have always thought they are a staple for any closet that can go with any outfit. A would wear them with leggings, jeans, skirts, or dresses.

12. Ankle Boots:
(Pictured, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar) :
I got my first pair of Ankle Boots last year and now I want more. They just go with everything and can even be dressed up if you want. I got a pair of black ones with brown heels but now I’m look at a pair of brown, all black, and grey.

13. Flats:
(Pictured, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar) :
Flats are a great option for this time of year. They are the next step up from sandals and they can be a bit more dresser and accepted in more places. I have a good collection of flats but am always looking for more with good support on the inside (the hardest part of finding shoes).

14. Crossbody Bag:
(Pictured, Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar)
I love crossbody bags year around. They are just so easy to pair with an outfit and you can be hands-free without having a backpack on. There are so many styles out there now that allow you to either dress up or down with a bag.

15. Lightweight Jacket:

These are great when you want to look a bit better then throwing on sweatshirt for those colder days. It’s not that cold that you need your full winter coat but it is cold enough where you need something.

What is something that you would like to add to your wardrobe?
